LA DESTRUCCIÓN DEL PATRIMONIO CULTURAL IRAQUÍ DESDE LA PRIMERA GUERRA DEL GOLFO HASTA LA ACTUALIDAD

Abstract

[ES] La destrucción sistemática que se está produciendo en Iraq desde el conflicto bélico iniciado en 1980 contra Irán está marcando un antes y un después en la propia historia de la región, cuna de la civilización. Se trata de una devastación que va aumentando progresivamente con las posteriores segunda y tercera guerras del golfo, y que llega hasta nuestros días con la expansión de la organización terrorista Dáesh, la cual ha protagonizado una serie de cruentos ataques contra el patrimonio de la región que no sólo afecta al patrimonio cultural material sino que pone en riesgo el patrimonio inmaterial, como sucede con el genocidio de una minoría religiosa: los yazidíes. De este modo, nos encontramos ante una situación cuanto menos preocupante, donde se están perdiendo bienes que no solo son objetos en sí, sino que se tratan de contextos históricos y culturales de gran significado y repercusión para la historia de la humanidad.[EN] The systematic destruction that is taking place in Iraq since the war started in 1980 against Iran is marking a before and after in the history of the region, the cradle of civilization. It is about a devastation that increase progressively with the last second and third Gulf wars, and that it arrives our days with the expansion of the terrorist organization Daesh, which has starred in a series of cruelty against the heritage of the region that not only affects the cultural material heritage but it puts at risk the intangible heritage, for instance, with the case of the genocide of a religious minority: the Yazidis. In this way, we face a situation of less concern, where we lose goods that are not only objects in themselves, rather, they are historical and cultural contexts of great significance and repercussion for the history of humanity.
