[EN]The aim was to analyse the effect of 16 min of vigorous cooperative physical activity (AFVC) at the beginning of the school day, on memory and attention-concentration during school day and the subsequent 24–48 hours. 158 participants were randomized in a control group (n=81) that did static stretching, and an experimental group (n=77) that performed AFVC. Cognitive variables were assessed at seven points during the morning (at baseline, immediately post, and after 2, 3, 4, 24 and 48 hours). Adolescents who carried out AFVC at the beginning of the school day increased in attention during the next hour and in concentration during the 1st and 2nd next hours. We suggest placing PE classes at the beginning of the day and to include short-term AFVC programs within PE classes. This is compatible with the parallel development of other didactic units and could offer a high profitability to obtain better attention-concentration. Key words: physical activity, cognition, physical fitness and adolescents.
