[EN] Healthy aging is understood as a process of development and maintenance of functional capacities that allows the presence of well-being in old age. However, the current situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic has compromised the development of these capabilities. Although strengths-based research with older people is scarce, it has shown the multiple benefits of developing human strengths during different life cycles. Therefore, we propose an intervention program based on gratitude and sense of humor, whose main objective is to increase the wellbeing of institutionalized elderly people. A quasi-experimental design with pre and post intervention measures will be used, where there will be an experimental group and a control group. The participants will be 30 institutionalized elderly people, aged between 65 and 80years. The intervention will consist of a total of 13 sessions and will last three months. The program sessions will be divided into two blocks, one for gratitude training and the other for sense of humor training. The expected results include an increase in life satisfaction, psychological well-being and subjective happiness of the participants in the experimental group, as well as a decrease in depressive symptomatology scores.
