MENOPAUSIA: HIPERTENSIÓN ARTERIAL, SÍNTOMAS VASOMOTORES Y FACTORES DE RIESGO DE CAÍDAS.

Abstract

[ES]El objetivo principal de nuestro estudio es analizar las relaciones entre la presencia de bochornos y de hipertensión arterial y el control postural, el miedo a caerse y el historial de caídas previo en mujeres postmenopáusicas. Se realizó un estudio observacional de tipo transversal en mujeres postmenopáusicas (n=133). Se recogieron variables sociodemográficas, antropométricas y variables relacionadas con el riesgo de caídas. Entre estas últimas evaluamos el miedo a caerse, la historia de caídas previas y realizamos un análisis estabilométrico, evaluando el control postural en una plataforma de presiones. Se realizó la prueba de Romberg con ojos abiertos y con ojos cerrados. Los resultados muestran que la hipertensión arterial se asocia de manera individual con un mayor riesgo de caídas, en concreto con un peor control postural y un mayor miedo a caerse. No se encontraron diferencias significativas respecto a la presencia de bochornos. Podemos concluir que aquellas mujeres que presentaban hipertensión, tenían un peor control de la postura y por tanto un mayor riesgo de sufrir caídas, por el contrario, no se vio asociación alguna entre la presencia de bochornos y factores de riesgo de caídas. [EN]The main objective of our study is to analyze the relationships between the presence of hot flashes and high blood pressure and postural control, the fear of falling and the history of previous falls in postmenopausal women. We carried out an observational cross-sectional study in postmenopausal women (n=133). We collected sociodemographic, anthropometric variables and variables related to the risk of falls. In relation to the last variables, we evaluate the fear of falling, the history of previous falls and perform a stabilometric analysis, evaluating postural control in a pressure platform. We did the Romberg test with open eyes and closed eyes. The results show that arterial hypertension is associated individually with an increased risk of falls, specifically with worse postural control and more fear of falling. No significant differences were found regarding the presence of hot flashes. We can conclude that those women who presented hypertension, had a worse control of the posture and therefore a higher risk of falling, on the other hand, there was no association between the presence of hot flashes and risk factors of falls.
