[ES] En este breve estudio se trata la cuestión pragmática de la cortesía lingüística en el acto de habla de la
petición en español con estudiantes de secundaria estadounidenses de español como lengua extranjera del
estado de Florida y estudiantes de secundaria hispanohablantes de la provincia de Cádiz. Los resultados
obtenidos tras la realización del análisis cualitativo y cuantitativo son los esperados, los estudiantes de ELE
no han adquirido la competencia pragmática en español suficiente para realizar peticiones en español como
sí lo haría un hispanohablante, lo que puede provocar choques y errores culturales para los aprendices de
español al no desarrollar en su totalidad la competencia comunicativa e intercultural.
[EN] This brief study addresses the pragmatic question of linguistic courtesy in the speech act of petitions and requests in Spanish within two groups of secondary students: American students from Florida with Spanish as a foreign language and Spanish students from Cádiz with Spanish as a native language. The results obtained through the qualitative and quantitative analyses are as expected: the students with Spanish as a foreign language had not acquired enough pragmatic competence in Spanish to make petitions and requests in the same way that a native Spanish speaker would. This then could provoke cultural errors and shocks for Spanish language learners when the intercultural and communicative competences are not fully developed.
