[EN]The present study has as main objective to know which variables (environmental, physical and psychological) are related to the sport drop-out of soccer practice in adolescents. A sample of 40 participants (M = 16.0; DT = 0.784) complete self-report measures of physical, temporal and environmental variables (BMI, hours of dedication and distances); social (team cohesion and motivational climate); and individual (ability, motivation, perception of success and emotional intelligence). The results indicate that sport drop-out is related to less dedication to soccer practice and greater dedication to other activities, less perceived ability to practice football, less perceived team cohesion, a more ego-oriented motivational climate than to the task, less intrinsic motivation, less orientation to the ego and the task and lower levels of emotional intelligence. The usefulness of the set of variables to prevent abandonment of soccer practice is discussed. Keywords: football, sports drop-out, social environment, psychological variables
