La museología del siglo XXI a debate: de la teoría a la práctica. Creación, desarrollo y pervivencia de un nuevo modelo.

Abstract

(ES) El trabajo pretende realizar una aproximación al fenómeno de centros de arte contemporáneo como un ejemplo de la museología contemporánea. En la conformación del modelo han influido muchas teorías y actividades de distintas instituciones, que van a ser analizadas en el trabajo con el fin de determinar el contexto y los orígenes de la nueva tipología museística. Con dicho objetivo se realiza un estudio del proceso de la evolución del concepto del museo desde la creación de nuevos modelos en el siglo XX hacia una mayor separación de dicho concepto a finales del siglo. El resultado de tal desvinculación será una entidad multidisciplinar y flexible, capaz de abarcar un amplio abanico de funciones, que está al servicio de una sociedad creativa. Un especial interés se concede al análisis de los centros de arte contemporáneo en España, que surgen en un clima transitorio de reivindicación política y social del país.(EN) This research aims to study the phenomenon of the centres for contemporary art as an example of modern museology. Many theories and activities of different institutions have influenced in the conformation of the model, which will be analyzed in the work in order to determine the context and origins of the new museum typology. So, it’s necessary to study a long process of evolution of the concept of the museum since the creation of new models in the twentieth century towards its disassociation from the concept by the end of the century. The result of this separation has given a multidisciplinary y and flexible space that covers a range of functions, at the service of a creative society. The particular attention is paid to the centres for contemporary art in Spain, which had their development in a transition phase of political and social vindication of the country.
