(ES) Mary Wollstonecraft y Mary Hays son dos de las autoras más importantes del siglo XVIII por
ser pioneras en la lucha por los derechos de las mujeres y su libertad en una sociedad donde
dominaba el patriarcado. Esta reivindicación quedó reflejada en sus obras más conocidas:
Memorias de Emma Courtney (1796) y Reivindicación de los derechos de la mujer (1792).
Ambas obras serán analizadas desde el punto de vista feminista centrándonos sobre todo en
temas como la búsqueda de la felicidad y la educación. Además, se hará un estudio previo tanto
histórico como social de esta época junto con la biografía de estas autoras para contextualizar el
análisis de estas obras.
(EN) Mary Wollstonecraft and Mary Hays are two of the most important authors of the 18th century. They were pioneers in the fight for women's rights and their freedom within a patriarchal society. This vindication is going to be reflected in their masterpieces Memoirs of Emma Courtney (1796) and Vindication of the Rights of Women (1792). Both works are going to be analized from a feminist point of view. The main topics that are going to be developed are the pursuit of happiness and education. Besides, a previous historical and social study of this period will be made, together with a discussion of their biographies, in order to meaningfully contextualize the analysis of their works.
