The use of fashion anglicisms in Spanish language

Abstract

El presente estudio indaga en el uso de anglicismos en el español, concretamente, anglicismos relacionados con el mundo de la moda. Este TFG ofrece un marco teórico que trata las diferentes hipótesis sobre el uso de anglicismos y su correspondiente relación con el lenguaje y mundo de la moda. El principal objetivo de esta investigación es tener una visión actualizada del uso de anglicismos en el español, tanto en artículos de moda como en el habla de los hispanohablantes. Para ello, se ha realizado un análisis de un corpus lingüístico compuesto por nueve artículos de moda. Con el fin de ilustrar el uso de este fenómeno en el habla de los hispanohablantes, 223 españoles han respondido a un formulario sobre su conocimiento y uso de anglicismos relacionados con la moda, ofreciendo, de este modo, un punto de vista sociolingüístico. Se pretende conocer la frecuencia como el impacto que tienen los anglicismos en el lenguaje especializado de la moda.

This paper investigates the use of anglicisms in Spanish, specifically, anglicisms related to fashion. Moreover, this TFG offers a theoretical framework that deals with the different hypotheses on the use of anglicisms and their relation with the language of fashion. The main objective ofthis research is to have an updated view of the use of anglicisms in Spanish, both in fashion articles and in the speech of Spanish speakers. Furthermore, an analysis of a linguistic corpus composed of nine fashion articles has been analysed in order to accomplish this research. In addition, 223 Spanish people answered a form conceming their knowledge about fashion-related anglicisms with the aim of illustrating the use of this phenomenon in the speech of Spanish speakers, providing, in this way, a more sociolinguistic point of view. Finally, the aim ofthis TFG is to leam about the frequency and impact of anglicisms in the specialised language of fashion.
