Project based learning: investigating a new world through school exchanges.

Abstract

Desde que la educación por proyectos llegó a las clases, los estudiantes tienen la libertad tanto para elegir el comienzo de los proyectos como para elegir el proceso de los mismos. Ellos se sienten motivados ya que tienen la oportunidad de proporcionar y exponer el material usado durante las clases, aparte de experimentar diversas situaciones llegando así a sus propias conclusiones. El principal objetivo de este trabajo es entender y mostrar las razones para implementar el proyecto junto al uso de las nuevas tecnologías en clase. En primer lugar se desarrolla la definición de proyecto y los principales tipos, del mismo modo que se muestran las posibles ventajas y desventajas. Seguidamente se muestran los pasos para facilitar el proyecto y como corregirlo. Se realiza un estudio de una investigación centrándose en los intercambios en colegios y finalmente se desarrolla un proyecto original.

Since project-based learning arrived to classrooms, students have become active participants in the learning process since they choose topics. Consequently, they feel more motivated since they have the opportunity to elaborate the materials used during the lessons while experiencing several real-life situations, arriving in this way to their own conclusions. The main aim of this paper is to understand and show the benefits and reasons to implement the projects in the classrooms through ICTs in Secondary Education. To do so, first, the definition of project and their essentials are provided, as well as discussing its advantages and disadvantages. Afterwards, relevant issues are further analysed such as the most important steps to facilitate projects and how to assess them. An investigation of project-based learning proposal is developed, focusing on the school exchanges. Finally, an original project proposal is elaborated.
