Abstract: | Mediante este trabajo pretendemos profundizar en el tema de la literatura infantil en lengua inglesa y cómo trabajarla en el aula de Educación Primaria. El trabajo se basa en un marco teórico donde se analizará el recorrido histórico de la literatura infantil en lengua inglesa, pasando a describir los diferentes métodos de enseñanza-aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras, y después se explicarán los géneros de la literatura infantil inglesa (cuento, poesía y teatro). Posteriormente, se describirán los beneficios que tiene la literatura para el alumnado de Educación Primaria y, por último, diseñaremos y presentaremos una propuesta de unidad didáctica para alumnado de sexto de primaria. The project is based on the discussion of a theoretical framework where the children’s literature in English is analysed, then the different methods of teaching-learning foreign languages are described and finally, the different genres of literature, such as short stories, poetry and drama are explained. We shall also focus on describing the benefits of literature for students. The design of a didactic proposal aimed at students in the sixth year of Primary Education concludes the project.
