DESDE LA CULTURA VISUAL CONTEMPORÁNEA HACIA EL ARTE LOCAL: Una propuesta educativa para el Polígono del Valle

Abstract

[ES]Podría denominarse el siglo XXI como la “Era de las imágenes”, en la que vivimos bombardeados por el hostigamiento de lo visual y el lenguaje tendencioso, sin haber sido enseñados sobre la influencia que ejercen las imágenes en nosotros, y la necesidad de filtrar el consumo de dicho lenguaje. Ante este panorama, resulta esencial que los jóvenes aprendan esta forma de comunicación, para poder interpretar la cultura visual y audiovisual desde una perspectiva crítica; ser capaces de crear sus propios discursos y participar en este escenario contemporáneo. Para que este aprendizaje sea significativo, se requiere que sea también asequible, cercano y producto de un desarrollo reflexivo, que sólo ocurrirá en el intento de comprender algo que les interese. En este sentido, el Arte es una herramienta al servicio del aula, que sirve como puente entre dichos intereses o disyuntivas de su entorno, y el currículo oficial educativo.

[EN]The 21st century could be called the “Age of images”, in which we live bombed by the harassment of the visual and biased language, without having been taught about the influence that images have on us, and the need to filter the consumption of such language. Against this background, it is essential that young people learn a new form of communication, in order to construe the visual and audiovisual culture from a critical perspective; while being able to create their own speeches and get involved in this contemporary setting. For this learning to be meaningful, it must also be affordable, close and the product of a reflective development, which will only occur in the attempt to understand something that interests them. In this sense, Art is a tool at the service of the classroom, which acts as a bridge between the above-mentioned interests and dilemmas of their environment, and the official educational curriculum.
