[EN]Introduction: Kinesio Taping (KT) is a therapeutic modality that can treat different kinds of diseases. One of its main features is the reduction of musculoskeletal pain, although it is true that there was limited evidence to support the use of this type of dressing in the treatment of pain. Objective: To examine the scientific evidence on the application of Kinesio Taping as physiotherapy modality in the management of musculoskeletal pain. Methods: The databases used were PubMed, PEDro, The Cochrane Library, CINAHL, Scopus / Science Direct and Proquest. Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) published between 2004 to 2014, where he analyzed the effect of KT on pain were included. Results: Of 45 articles analyzed, they have met the criteria of best choice six scientific articles where pain is analyzed before and after the KT apliciation. Conclusions: There appears to be strong evidence that the Kinesio Taping can be an effective technique to reduce musculoskeletal pain. However, there is some controversy over this statement so that future research studies involving an increased sample size, a true control group, increased monitoring and where the long-term benefits of the technique are investigated are required.
