APOYO SOCIAL PERCIBIDO Y SATISFACCIÓN DE LOS FAMILIARES DE PACIENTES INGRESADOS EN LA UNIDAD DE CUIDADOS INTENSIVOS CON EL COLECTIVO ENFERMERO

Abstract

[ES] Introducción. La hospitalización de familiares en UCI produce cambios emocionales en los acompañantes. Lazarus y Folkman consideran el apoyo social como una estrategia de afrontamiento frente al ingreso de un familiar en estado crítico. Objetivo. Determinar el apoyo social percibido y la satisfacción de los familiares de pacientes ingresados en UCI con el personal de enfermería. Metodología. Se ha realizado una revisión sistemática a partir de 9 estudios originales. Se definieron criterios de inclusión y se llevó a cabo el Test del Signo. Resultados. La mayoría de los estudios mostraron un sentido positivo con asociación estadística entre las variables. Sin embargo, el Test del Signo reveló que el número de estudios con signo positivo y asociación no era significativamente superior. Conclusiones. Los resultados obtenidos parecen indicar una relación positiva entre el apoyo social percibido que ofrece el profesional de enfermería y la satisfacción de la familia con el mismo.

[EN] Introduction. The hospitalization of family members in the ICU produces emotional changes in those accompanying them. Lazarus and Folkman consider social support as a coping strategy for the admission of a critically ill family member. Objective. To determine the perceived social support and satisfaction of family members of patients admitted to the ICU with the nursing staff. Methodology. A systematic review was carried out based on 9 original studies. Inclusion criteria were defined and the Sign Test was performed. Results. Most of the studies showed a positive direction with statistical association between the variables. However, the Sign Test revealed that the number of studies with positive sign and association was not significantly higher. Conclusions. The results obtained seem to indicate a positive relationship between the perceived social support offered by the nursing professional and the family's satisfaction with it.
