The current state of technology, which demands ever more demanding connections in terms of performance and delay, proposes a rethinking of the connection scheme that has been followed throughout these years. Faced with the use of a single interface for the connection, the multipath TCP (MPTCP) technology proposes using several interfaces to establish different paths or routes, providing greater performance and greater robustness. In the present work the MPTCP protocol has been installed employing an available implementation for Ubuntu. Thanks to it, the protocol has been tested in different scenarios to analyse its behaviour and main features. Through this study we have been able to observe the advantages of the protocol against network drops, the increase in performance with respect to TCP and the decrease in the delay time of the packets sent also compared to TCP.
