Problemas respiratorios en el recién nacido prematuro tardío: revisión narrativa

Abstract

[ES] El parto prematuro es un acontecimiento que afecta a todas las sociedades, cuyas tasas han ido aumentando en los últimos años. Este acontecimiento tiene especial importancia por las repercusiones a nivel respiratorio en el recién nacido, siendo el síndrome de distrés respiratorio una de las afecciones más frecuente, comportándose como uno de los principales indicadores de morbilidad y mortalidad para el feto y al que se le asocian tratamientos, cuidados intensivos y hospitalización, más la educación sanitaria a los padres y seguimiento para evitar complicaciones posteriores. Sería necesario el conocimiento y la existencia de un protocolo tanto para la prevención de parto prematuro como para el tratamiento del síndrome de distrés respiratorio.

[EN]Premature birth affects all societies whose rates have been increasing in recent years. This is particularly important for the impact on respiratory level in the newborn, being the respiratory distress syndrome one of the most common and behaving as one of the main indicators of morbidity and mortality for the fetus. It is associated not only with treatments and intensive care but also hospitalization, health education to parents and monitoring to avoid further complications. It would be necessary the knowledge and the existence of a protocol for both, prevention of premature birth and treatment of respiratory distress syndrome.
