[ES] El método Pilates se ha convertido reciente y rápidamente en una forma popular de ejercicio recomendado para personas sanas y quienes se dedican a la rehabilitación. Varios estudios publicados han examinado los efectos del método Pilates en las personas con lumbalgia crónica . El objetivo de este estudio es describir y ofrecer una revisión de la literatura científica que compara la eficacia del método Pilates en el dolor y la discapacidad en pacientes con lumbalgia crónica. Las búsquedas identificaron un total de 975 artículos. De estos, 8 fueron considerados elegibles y fueron incluidos en el análisis. En estos estudios se sugiere que el método Pilates es más efectivo que ninguna intervención, AINES, ejercicio inespecífico y similar que bicicleta estática y ejercicio para la lumbalgia en el manejo de la misma.
[EN] The Pilates method has recently become a fast-growing popular way of exercise recommended for healthy individuals and those engaged in rehabilitation. Several published studies have examined the effects of Pilates method in people with chronic low back pain (LBP). The objective of this study is to describe and provide an overview of the scientific literature comparing the effectiveness of the Pilates method on pain and disability in patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain. The searches identified a total of 975 articles. From these, 8 were considered eligible and were included in the analysis. These studies suggest that the Pilates method is more effective than no intervention, NSAIDs, non-specific exercise and similar to stationary cycling and exercise for low back pain in handling it.
