[EN] Introduction: the alteration in the balance is a common feature among in people with multiple sclerosis. It is important to know the most effective treatment techniques to improve balance. Objectives: To assess the effectiveness of physiotherapy interventions in improving balance in patients with multiple sclerosis. Material and Methods: a bibliography search in different databases like: Pubmed, PEDro, Cinhal, Medline and Scopus was performed using this keywords: “multiple sclerosis” and “balance”. The studies must be randomized clinical trials and they must have been published between January 2010 and May 2016. Results: 296 articles were obtained, 38 from Pubmed, 54 from PEDro, 34 from CInhal, 108 from Medline and 57 from Scopus. After removing the duplicates articles, applying the inclusion’s criteria and methodological quality assessment, 9 articles were included in the review. These studies had as conventional physical therapy intervention (2 studies), exercise with vibrotherapy (3 studies), exergames (2 studies), Clinical Pilates (1study) and vestibular rehabilitation (1study). Conclusion: conventional physical therapy, clinical Pilates and vestibular rehabilitation seem to have more benefits on balance. However is necessary to continue investigating which technique it is most effective in the treatment of balance in patients with multiple sclerosis.
