Resumen
[ES] Recientemente están surgiendo diversos problemas sociales y/o políticos en torno a la
democracia; de hecho podemos hablar principalmente: del desarrollo de nuevos partidos
políticos; nos encontramos con debates acerca de lo que deben o no elegir los
ciudadanos y, para terminar, están surgiendo dudas acerca del carácter democrático de
la aplicación de los resultados de las elecciones. Por ello, he decidido escoger la
“democracia” como núcleo central del presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado, con el objetivo
de poder afirmar si Roma fue o no una verdadera democracia.
Así pues, lo que se pretende es definir claramente qué es lo que se entiende por
democracia; además de analizar su origen griego. Después se realizará un análisis
político, social e institucional de la época republicana romana (que abarca desde el año
509 a.C. al 29 a.C.), recurriendo a diferentes fuentes bibliográficas. A continuación, con
el estudio realizado, se llega a la conclusión de que Roma sí fue una auténtica
democracia, aunque con algunos matices.
