[EN]The aim of this article is to provide a literature review of the effectiveness of manual therapy in the treatment of chronic and episodic tension type headache. To do this, we have made searches in bibliographic databases such as PubMed, PEDro, Scopus and Cochrane. In our review we have included articles referring to the manual therapy for the treatment of that pathology, full text in English or Spanish. The total search, select the 9 items that best fit. These articles talk about massage, miofascial release, positional release therapy and manipulative treatment. In eight of the nine articles, manual therapy is effective reducing the symptoms of tension type headache, but the results are not very reliable due to the low number of samples. Articles that demonstrate the effectiveness of manual therapy for the treatment of tension-type headache are more and better needed.
