Efectividad de la fisioterapia en mujeres con fibromialgia: una revisión sistemática

Resumen
[ES]Objetivo: Reunir las principales evidencias científicas para determinar la efectividad de la fisioterapia en fibromialgia. Métodos: Se realizó una búsqueda de ensayos clínicos controlados y aleatorizados en las bases de datos Pubmed, PEDro y WOS, con las palabras clave “Fibromyalgia”, “Physiotherapy” y “Physical therapy”. Se seleccionaron estudios publicados desde 2010 hasta la fecha. Para evaluar la calidad de los estudios se emplearon las escalas PEDro y Jadad. Resultados: Tras la revisión y localización de 1405 artículos, finalmente se analizaron 11 atendiendo a los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Estos estudios fueron clasificados en ocho grupos según el tipo de intervención de fisioterapia aplicada. Conclusiones: Esta revisión sistemática encontró gran evidencia sobre la efectividad de la fisioterapia en mujeres diagnosticadas con fibromialgia. Se demuestra que tiene sobre todo gran efectividad las terapias complementarias de fisioterapia, como son el yoga o la danza del vientre.
[EN] Objective: To collect the main scientific evidences in order to determine the effectiveness of physiotherapy in fibromyalgia. Methods: A randomized controlled clinical trial search was performed in Pubmed, PEDro and WOS databases, using “Fibromyalgia”, “Physiotherapy” and “Physical therapy” as keywords, and restricting results to those published from 2010 to date. "Pedro and Jadad" scales were used in order to evaluate the quality of the studies. Results: 1405 studies were found after the search, of which 11 were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria and classified into eight groups according to the type of physiotherapy. Conclusions: This systematic review found strong evidence for the effectiveness of physiotherapy in women diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It is shown that complementary therapies of physiotherapy are effective, such as yoga or belly dancing.
