Relación entre la aparición de trastornos psicóticos y personas que consumen cannabis

Abstract

[ES] Introducción: El consumo de cannabis se ha disparado en los últimos años y cada vez a edades más tempranas. Junto con ello, la gente se cuestiona desde hace años sobre la existencia de una relación causal entre el consumo del cannabis y la aparición de trastornos psicóticos. Objetivos: Conocer si existe relación entre el consumo de cannabis y la aparición de trastornos psicóticos. Metodología: se ha llevado a cabo una investigación secundaria, en concreto, una revisión bibliográfica narrativa y estructurada en diferentes bases de datos internacionales con una serie de criterios de selección. Analizamos los estudios, de manera que extraemos los resultados y datos de interés para la investigación. Resultados: obtenemos 35 artículos tras aplicar los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. La mayoría de ellos afirman que existe una relación entre el cannabis y la aparición de episodios psicóticos, pero ésta relación se ve afectada por otros factores o no se han tenido en cuenta diferentes tipos de sesgos. También se habla de un efecto mucho más perjudicial en adolescentes al afectar a la maduración del cerebro. La mayor parte de ellos afirma que se requiere una mayor investigación acerca del tema. Conclusiones: la relación existente entre cannabis y los trastornos psicóticos se ve afectada por otros factores (predisposición genética, cantidad consumida, etc.) y es potencialmente más perjudicial en adolescentes o personas que ya padezcan estos trastornos.
