importancia.

Alcohol is now considered the most common teratogen to which a fetus is exposed. Hence it is one of the main public health problems. Excessive consumption of alcohol by a woman during pregnancy can lead to serious consequences in the newborn, all of them being combined in what is known as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) if the effects Of alcohol have been lower. As a result of this review, it has been shown that the consumption of alcohol during gestation can have negative effects for both the mother and the fetus and that the follow-up of the pregnancy by the nurses in the prenatal consultations can be vital importance.
