A literature research in 3 databases: Pubmed, PEDro and Web of Science was carried out and a total of 1663 articles were obtained. Finally 12 articles were selected because of the inclusion and exclusion criteria. When the results were observed, manual therapy was considered to be a positive way to treat those dysfunctions and if manual therapy is combined with self‐education at home and in other cases with occlusal appliance, the results show a better effect. Further studies with more quality and more time of follow‐up are needed.
