[EN] Nosocomial infections are one of the most important problems in intensive care units, causing serious complications for patients. The main objective is to know the situation of the ICU of the Neurotraumathologic Hospital in Jaén in relation to most common nosocomial infections in these units. This is a descriptive and retrospective study with data obtained from the ENVIN‐HELICS registry of all patients admitted more than 1 day in the unit from January 1, 2010 to September 30, 2016. The length of stays and deaths, as well as the severity of the patients, are higher than the national average. The incidence densities of the MAVP and the PB‐VCB have decreased. On the other hand, CAUTI remain stable and even with a slight upward trend, so it would be interesting to develop and establish standard protocols and procedures for the insertion and maintenance of bladder catheters.
