[ES]Hoy en día, el politraumatismo es la primera causa de muerte en las personas entre 15 y 34 años, este tipo de pacientes presenta importantes discapacidades y secuelas permanentes. Estudios recientes han demostrado que una adecuada atención en la fase prehospitalaria y transporte inmediato mejoran la supervivencia de estos enfermos. El propósito de este trabajo es revisar el protocolo de actuación en la asistencia inicial del paciente politraumatizado y abordar el tema en cuanto a la actuación de enfermería. Para ello es necesario un equipo multidisciplinario con un protocolo estructurado y organizado ya que los primeros 30 minutos del suceso son fundamentales para la toma de decisiones.
[EN]Today, the polytraumatized is the first cause of death for people between 15 and 34 years, this patient has significant disabilities and permanent sequelae. Recent studies have shown that adequate care in the prehospital phase transport and immediately improve survival of these patients. The purpose of this paper is to review the prehospital protocol in the care of the trauma patient and address the issue regarding nursing performance. This requires a multidisciplinary team with a structured and organized protocol is necessary because the first 30 minutes of the event are critical to decision making.
