Resumen
[ES] La depresión es una de las principales causas de la carga de discapacidad y enfermedad en el mundo. Debido al aumento de popularidad de las terapias complementarias y alternativas, los pacientes han optado por la realización de tratamientos como el yoga para el beneficio de la depresión. Objetivos: Examinar la eficacia del yoga como terapia complementaria y alternativa para la depresión. Metodología: Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica, tras emplear las siguientes bases de datos, CINHAL, Pubmed, Cochrane, Medline y Scielo. Resultados: 23 documentos seleccionados afirman que tras al menos 10 sesiones de yoga existe mejoría en el estrés, ansiedad, depresión, etc. teniendo un efecto estadísticamente significativo como tratamiento complementario. Conclusión: la información recopilada afirma que los pacientes después de su realización en la práctica de yoga, en general, sienten mejora en los síntomas de la depresión. Tendremos que indagar más acerca de este tema.

Due to increasing popularity of complementary and alternative therapies, patients have opted for performing treatments such as yoga for the benefit of depression. To examine the effectiveness of yoga as complementary and alternative therapy for depression. Methods: A literature review was performed, by querying the following databases, CINAHL, PubMed, Cochrane, Medline and Scielo. Results: 23 selected documents state that after at least 10 sessions of yoga there is an improvement in stress, anxiety, depression, etc. having a statistically significant effect as a complementary treatment. Conclusion: The information collected says that patients after completion in the practice of yoga in general feel improvement in symptoms of depression. We will have to investigate more about this topic.
