FATIGA POR COMPASIÓN Y ESTRÉS TRAUMÁTICO SECUNDARIO: EFECTO EN EL DESARROLLO DE BURNOUT EN EL PERSONAL DE ENFERMERÍA EXTRAHOSPITALARIA

Abstract

[ES]El presente Trabajo Fin de Máster describe un proyecto de investigación dirigido al personal de enfermería de emergencias extrahospitalarias, ya que está expuesto a eventos traumáticos y de gran carga emocional. El estudio se desarrollaría en la Comunidad de Madrid, contando con los/as enfermeras/os de SAMUR- Protección Civil y de SUMMA 112. El objetivo general sería estudiar el grado en el que el personal de enfermería de servicios extrahospitalarios de emergencias y urgencias experimenta consecuencias psicosociales asociadas a trabajos de alto impacto emocional: la fatiga por compasión, el trastorno de estrés traumático secundario, así como su relación con el síndrome burnout. El diseño del estudio sería observacional (no hay aleatorización de la muestra ni manipulación de variables), de corte transversal, retrospectivo y de tipo descriptivo. Los datos de la investigación permitirían entender el funcionamiento de dichas variables para ayudar al establecimiento de estrategias de prevención y minimización del daño.

[EN] This Master's Thesis describes a research project aimed at out-of-hospital emergency nursing personnel, as they are exposed to traumatic and highly emotionally charged events. The study would be carried out in the Community of Madrid, with nurses from SAMUR- Civil Protection and SUMMA 112. The general objective would be to study the degree to which the nursing staff of out- of-hospital emergency and emergency services experience psychosocial consequences associated with jobs with high emotional impact: compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress disorder, as well as its relationship with burnout syndrome. The study design would be observational (there is no randomization of the sample or manipulation of variables), cross-sectional, retrospective and descriptive. The research data would allow us to understand the operation of these variables to help establish prevention and damage minimization strategies.
