[ES] El tratamiento del dolor agudo postquirúrgico se basa fundamentalmente en el uso de fármacos analgésicos. pero a pesar del extenso arsenal terapeútico existente, se
ha considerado que el dolor postoperatorio está infratratrado. En el presente trabajo se realiza una revisión bibliográfica de la función que puede desempeñar el
personal enfermero en la mejora del manejo de este tipo de dolor. Se valoran algunas de las funciones que el enfermero puede llevar a cabo de forma previa a la cirugia
como es la visita prequirúrgica, así como acciones a posteriori como son el empleo simultáneo de técnicas complementarias y farmacológicas con el objetivo de mejorar
el bienestar del paciente, acelerar su recuperación, además de considerar la posible reducción de fármacos analgésicos y por tanto de sus efectos secundarios así como
de costes hospitalarios. De esta revisión se concluye que el enfermero tiene una importante implicación en la mejora del tratamiento del dolor agudo postquirúrgico
[EN] The treatment 01 post-operative pain is mainly based on the use 01 analgesic drugs. However, although many therapeutic drugs are available, postoperative pain is not suffieiently treated. A literature review 01 the potential role 01 the nursing staft in improving the management 01 this type 01 pain is done. Some 01 the functions that the nurse can perlorm previously to surgery sueh as preoperative vislt and postoperative actions sueh as the simultaneous use 01 eomplementary and pharmaeologieal treatment teehniques have been evaluated. The importanee of this management by nurses on the wellness ofthe patients and their reeovery, and the possible reduetion of analgesie drugs use and side effects as well as hospital eosts have been also evaluated.
