Acupuntura en el paciente con dolor lumbar: una revisión bibliográfica.

Resumen
[ES]El dolor lumbar ha aumentado en los últimos 15 años, siendo un problema de salud que afecta a todas las edades. Se estima que más del 70% de la población va a experimentar este dolor en algún momento de su vida. Dentro de los cuidados complementarios, la acupuntura puede ser utilizada en el tratamiento de la lumbalgia. El objetivo general de este trabajo es examinar la información disponible sobre la acupuntura en personas con lumbago. Se ha realizado una revisión narrativa utilizando bases nacionales e internacionales. Un total de 18 artículos fueron seleccionados y éstos utilizaban la acupuntura como tratamiento único o en coadyuvante a otras técnicas de tratamiento recogidas por la medicina tradicional china. A pesar de la falta de investigación sobre el tema, los estudios publicados muestran que la acupuntura es una técnica segura y se puede obtener beneficios en el dolor y en la limitación funcional de estos pacientes.
[EN] Low back pain has increased over the past 15 years, being a health problem that affects at any ages. It is estimated that more than 70% of the population will feel this pain in some time in its life. Within supportive care, acupuncture can be used for the treatment of low back pain. The main objective of this project is to review the information available on acupuncture in people with low back pain. Literature review based on national and international sources. A total of 18 papers were selected and these papers used acupuncture as a single treatment or as a supplementary treatment to other techniques compiled by traditional Chinese medicine. Despite the lack of researching on the subject, published studies show that acupuncture is a safe technique and can obtain benefits in the pain and functional limitation of these patients.
