PREVENCIÓN SANITARIA EN LA PREMATURIDAD: ROL ENFERMERO EN EL CUIDADO DEL RECIÉN NACIDO PREMATURO. UNA REVISIÓN DE LA LITERATURA.

Abstract

[ES] La prematuridad es la primera causa de mortalidad en el mundo de los recién nacidos durante el primer mes de vida y la segunda causa de muerte en los niños de menos de cinco años. El parto prematuro no solo conlleva numerosas complicaciones de salud para el prematuro, sino que también es un grave problema para las familias, para la sociedad y para la economía de un país. Considerando la trascendencia que este problema genera sobre la Salud Pública, es necesario conocer qué medidas preventivas y qué intervenciones deben de aplicarse en la atención sanitaria.

[EN] Prematurity is the leading cause of death in the world of newborns during the first month of life and the second leading cause of death in children under five years of age. Not only does preterm birthlead to numerous health complications for premature babies, but it is also a serious problem for families, for society and for the economy of a country. Considering the importance that this problem generates on Public Health, it is necessary to know what preventive measures and what interventions should be applied in health care.
