[EN]The classical. renin-angiotens in-system (RAS) has been studied as an important regula tory mechanisms for water and h1droelectrolyt e balance and blood pressure. Other local RAS have been found in most organs and tissues involved in serverak other functions . To data, it is known that the RAS participates in different pathologies beyon hypertenion. We review the literature concerning the basics of the RAS, showing particular interest in its participation in various diseases with high incidence such as breast cancer and Alzheimer type dementia .We also analyze the behavior and functions not only of the active peptide of the RAS, but also some of the1r proteolyt1c reulatory enzymes. We w1ll know not only the changes incurred during these patholog1es, but also the possibility of using any of these components as diagnostic tools or even as therapeut1c targets.
