READING STRATEGIES FOR STUDENTS OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

In this investigation I try to explain some aspects of the reading process as well as encourage students to practise the four skills through a didactic unit, in which they are going to develop not only the reading skill, but also speaking, listening and writing skills. The main purpose of this research is to show some important reading strategies or techniques that students could use to make easier the learning and development of the reading skill. This project is based on some scholars’’ works by comparing their theories and developing the aspects I consider most essential for this topic.

En este trabajo de investigación trataré de explicar algunos aspectos sobre el proceso de lectura así como animar a los estudiantes a practicar las cuatro destrezas a través de una unidad didáctica en la cual ellos van a desarrollar no solo la destreza lectora, sino también las destrezas orales, comprensión auditiva y expresión escrita. El principal objetivo de esta investigación es mostrar algunas estrategias o técnicas de lectura importantes que los estudiantes pueden usar para facilitar el aprendizaje y el desarrollo de la destreza lectora. Este proyecto se basa en los trabajos de algunos autores, comparando sus teorías y con el objetivo de desarrollar los aspectos que yo considero esenciales para este tema.
