[EN] Interferon lambda 4 is a type of regulatory protein which belongs to the IFN III family. lt is involved in innate immunity, specifically, in mucous barriers defense. The study of this class of cytokine is necessary to understand the behavior of the organism against various viral diseases, at the same time that it is useful for the research of palliative actions. Recently, a sequence with a high level of homology with /FNL4 has been identified. The main objective of this study is to identify if this element can be considered a new paralog gene of the interferon lambda family. This study have been made using bioinformatics and experimental tools that will help to obtain the interest sequence for its subsequent cloning method. This bioinformatics results shows the presence and conservation of this sequence in different mammal's species although the experimental results are not conclusive.
