[EN] The following study has analyzed the current relationships between the components of Emotional Intelligence (IE) and the components of Occupational Stress in the nursing field. For this reason, 60 nurses who belong to two hospitals of Jaén have complemented the following scale. An IE scale (WLEIS); A Big Five scale and a Nursing Stress Scale (NSS). The results of the correlation analysis have showed some negative relationships between IE components and Occupational Stress components. In addition, the Hierarchical regression analysis validates these results and they have showed that the IE component, which is called “Self-Expression”, was constituted as the main predictor of the components of Occupational Stress. Regarding the conclusions and the implications of these results, they are explained in this study.
