En casos de agitación psicomotriz, la contención mecánica se reserva como último recurso, tras agotar métodos menos coercitivos. En este contexto, en España se han empezado a incorporar salas sensoriales o de confort en unidades hospitalarias de salud mental. El presente proyecto de investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la relación entre el uso de técnicas sensoriales y de desescalada verbal en dichas salas y la reducción o eliminación de la agitación psicomotriz en pacientes hospitalizados. Se trata de un estudio cuasiexperimental sin grupo control, con una muestra de 121 pacientes que presenten signos de agitación. Se empleará la Escala de Comportamiento Agitado de Corrigan antes y después de la intervención. Los datos se analizarán con SPSS. Los resultados podrían impulsar cuidados más humanizados y reducir el uso de medidas coercitivas en salud mental.(EN)In recent years, mental health care has shifted toward less coercive interventions, emphasizing alternative approaches such as sensory therapies. In cases of psychomotor agitation, mechanical restraint is considered a last resort, only after verbal and pharmacological strategies have been exhausted. Within this context, sensory or comfort rooms have begun to be implemented in mental health hospitalization units in Spain. This study aims to examine the relationship between the use of sensory techniques and verbal de-escalation in these comfort rooms and the reduction or cessation of psychomotor agitation in hospitalized patients. It is a quasi-experimental study without a control group, involving a sample of 121 patients showing signs of agitation. The Corrigan Agitated Behavior Scale (ABS) will be applied before and after the intervention. Data will be analyzed using SPSS software.
