Es decir, novelas de ciencia ficción en las que el lenguaje juega un papel importante como dispositivo argumental a través del cual la novela desarrolla su mundo y su historia. Para dar un soporte adecuado a este concepto, prestaremos atención a los conflictos y la relación entre los elementos verbales y la propia ficción, subordinando estas narrativas a conceptos como el relativismo lingüístico de Sapir y Whorf y el poder símbolico de Pierre Bourdieu. Esto situará en el foco de atención cuáles son las intenciones humanas para las que existe el lenguaje en este tipo de novelas y cómo la estructura y los comportamientos lingüísticos influyen en las estructuras sociales y el proceso de pensamiento dentro de las novelas de ciencia ficción seleccionadasThis final degree thesis looks into the role that linguistics play within the science fiction genre. This is, science fiction novels in which language plays an important and relevant role as a plot device through which the novel develops its world and story. In order to provide adequate support to this concept, we will pay attention to the conflicts and relationship between verbal elements and the fiction itself, subordinating these narratives to concepts such as Sapir-Whorf’s Linguistic Relativity, and Pierre Bourdieu’s Symbolic Power.
