En primer lugar, se ha realizado un estudio de la historia de este continente, desde el primer contacto que tuvo con Europa hasta la actualidad, además de un análisis de la situación más actual documentada del África occidental con respecto al turismo. En segundo lugar, se ha centrado en el país de Senegal, dando a conocer la situación del turismo actual en el país y realizando un análisis DAFO, además se detallan sus atractivos turísticos más importantes, junto con una encuesta con el propósito de conocer la opinión de los españoles con respecto a dicho país. Por último, se elabora un producto turístico con el objetivo de promocionar el país entre el público español, ya que en la actualidad se trata de un terreno aún por descubrir.[EN]In the present paper, we aim to examine Francophone Western Africa’s history, bringing Senegal into focus. In the first place, we have considered the continent’s history, from the first relations with Europe to the present days. Moreover, we have analysed tourism current situation in Western Africa. In the second place, we have focused in Senegal, describing their current situation in the field of tourism. We have conducted a swot analysis and we also highlight Senegal’s main tourist attractions. In addition, we have launched a survey to find out Spanish market opinion towards Senegal.
