A comparison is made with other European countries to assess how we can improve the Spanish education system in terms of English language teaching. Furthermore, a bibliographical review has been conducted on active methodologies that enhance student performance and learning. The results obtained from this research can inform English teachers and instructors of English-taught subjects on how to enhance fluency, vocabulary, grammar, and, ultimately, the four language skills: reading, speaking, writing, and listening.enginfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAtribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 3.0 Españahttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/es/5701.11Enseñanza de lenguasTeaching of languagesThe role of debate in enhancing english language skills in the education setting.info:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis
