Se ha empleado un sistema de información geográfica que ha permitido delimitar el perímetro ecológico de los EMIs en base a cuencas hidrográficas y vegetación potencial, describir sus características ambientales relevantes para el uso de técnicas de eddy-covarianza (topografía, clima, suelo, régimen de vientos). Finalmente, se ha explorado la representatividad de los EMIs respecto al conjunto del sector biogeográfico Subbético.This study consists in a technical report to determine the ecological characteristics of the Intensive Monitoring Stations (EMIs) that the Global Change Observatory of the Subbetic Ranges will establish. The EMIs will be equipped with instrumentation for the measurement of greenhouse gas exchanges between the ecosystem and the atmosphere using the eddy-covariance technique. The study uses a geographic information system to delimit the ecological perimeter of the EMIs from data on micro- catchments and potential vegetation and to describe environmental characteristics relevant for the eddy-covariance technique (topography, climate, soil and wind regimes).
