Hoy en día las personas mayores son uno de los principales grupos de población que existe en el mundo, lo cual puede conllevar cambios en el resto de la población. A través de este trabajo se pretende conocer el envejecimiento demográfico que existe en todo el mundo, centrándonos en el envejecimiento de la población a nivel mundial, europeo, español, andaluz, y, finalmente, en Jaén. En este último, nos centraremos en los municipios que mayor índice de envejecimiento y mayor porcentaje de personas mayores tienen. También se tendrá en cuenta el importante y necesario papel que tienen los/as trabajadores/as sociales para promover un envejecimiento activo de la poblaciónThe continuous aging of the population is a process that occurs throughout the life cycle of people, but it is increasing in recent years.
