La autora estructura su trabajo en cinco capítulos. Tras una introducción donde presenta su hipótesis, Carla Olaso Espi relaciona la invisibilidad con la marginación y el racismo que se denuncian en ambos textos. En el capítulo dos se investigan las diferentes formas en que la negritud de las protagonistas incide en su invisibilidad, prestando especial atención a la paradoja de cómo la mujer negra, a pesar de ser invisible en la sociedad, se considera objeto sexual. El capítulo cuatro analiza algunas de las estrategias que las protagonistas usan para hacerse visibles; a saber, locura, belleza y educación. La autora concluye planteando nuevas vías de investigación.[EN] This work examines the topic of invisibility in the American novels The Bluest Eye (1979) by Toni Morrison and Push (1996) by Sapphire. The author structures her work in five chapters. After the Introduction, where she presents her hypothesis, Carla Olaso Espi relates invisibility to the marginalization and racism denounced in both texts. Chapter two examines different ways in which the blackness of the main characters affects their invisibility. The author tackles the paradox of how black women, despite their invisibility in society, become sexual objects. Chapter four examines some of the strategies the main characters use to become invisible; to wit, madness, beauty and education.
