De esta manera, existen una serie de factores que favorecen el riesgo de que una persona mayor se convierta en víctima de violencia, entre éstos, la presencia de edadismo en la sociedad y los estereotipos negativos sobre la vejez. Así pues, el presente trabajo fin de grado se centra en conocer cuáles son los factores de riesgo de esta problemática, así como la relación existente entre el edadismo y la violencia hacia las personas mayores. Con éste, se pretende también hacer hincapié en la importancia que tiene que personas profesionales del Trabajo Social, mantengan una visión positiva sobre la vejez para prevenir las conductas de maltrato en su atención hacia este colectivoViolence against the elderly in the family environment is a social fact that dates back to antiquity and currently affects some of the elderly who, for various reasons, are forced to remain silent about their situation and continue to remain immersed in it.
