España es uno de los países donde más se usan, sin embargo, tienen muchos efectos secundarios, algunos potencialmente graves. Objetivo: Conocer la prevalencia de prescripciones de benzodiazepinas en la zona básica de Jaén y, comprobar la eficacia de una intervención en médicos de familia para reducir el número de prescripciones inadecuadas. 1o fase estudio de prevalencia. 2o Fase: estudio experimental, longitudinal, prospectivo con grupo control. Se realizarán sesiones formativas destinadas a médicos de atención primaria. Se analizará previamente la prevalencia de pacientes con benzodiazepinas y se analizará si la prescripción es adecuada. Seis y doce meses después de la intervención se volverán a analizar los datos para comprobar si la intervención ha sido efectiva. Se realizará una aleatorización por centros de salud para evitar sesgo de contaminación. Pendiente de aprobación por el comité de ética.Benzodiazepines are widely used drugs for anxiety and insomnia. They are greatly used in Spain compared to Europe, however, they have many side effects, some potentially serious. Objective: To find out the prevalence of benzodiazepine prescriptions in Jaén and, next, to verify the effectiveness of an intervention aimed at PC doctors to reduce the number of inappropriate BZD prescriptions. Study model in two phases. 1st phase: prevalence study. 2nd Phase: experimental, longitudinal, prospective study with control group. Training sessions will be held for primary care physicians. The prevalence of patients with benzodiazepines will be previously analyzed and it will be analyzed whether the prescription is appropriate. Six and twelve months after the intervention, the data will be analyzed again to check if the intervention has been effective. Randomization will be carried out by health centers to avoid contamination bias.
