Prdx6 pertenece al grupo de peroxirredoxinas 1-Cys, de las cuales no se ha llegado a un absoluto consenso sobre el mecanismo catalítico. Se trata de probar si la peroxirredoxina Prdx6 purificada de pulmón de ratón se ajusta al mecanismo catalítico demostrado con la peroxirredoxina 1-Cys (Prxlp) propia de Saccharomyces cerevisiae.A method of purification of the mouse peroxiredoxin Prdx6 has been performed by conventional chromatographic techniques in order to analyze its catalytic characteristics.
