La evolución histórica de este derecho desde sus inicios en España en 1890 hasta hoy en día, cuando se reconoce el derecho a sufragio universal tanto para hombres como para mujeres y en último momento su reconocimiento también a los ciudadanos extranjeros residentes en España, aunque tan solo en elecciones municipales. Se aborda también el estudio de la legislación que trata el tema de la extranjería y reconocimiento de derechos a los extranjeros y las posibles reformas que pueden realizarse en un futuro para que los ciudadanos extranjeros tengan acceso a este derecho, no sólo a nivel municipal, sino también a nivel autonómico y estatal, siempre y cuando sean residentes.This written aims is to study the right to vote, as a recognized and recognizable right to all human just for being. The historical evolution of this right from its beginnings in Spain in 1890 until nowday, when it recognizes the right to universal suffrage for men and women, and in the last moment, its appreciation to foreign resident citizens in Spain, just in local election.
