Cognitive impairments may have a severe impact on everyday functioning and quality of life of patients with multiple sclerosis. Between 45-65% of people with multiple sclerosis manifest cognitive deficits of various kinds, especially in speed of information processing, attention, and executive functions. The aim of this study was to validate the cognitive Attentional NetWork Test in multiple sclerosis patients and assess whether there are statistically significant differences in the performance of this test in this sector of the population compared to healthy subjects administering Five Digit Test as the Gold Standard. The sample included thirty four people (17 subjects with multiple sclerosis and 17 healthy subjects). The results showed significant differences in the performance of Five Digit Test by multiple sclerosis subjects not being found on the contrary in the embodiment of the Attentional NetWork Test. Several reasons might be responsible for these results: the nature of the stimulus, the processes involved, the conditions of each test, etc.
