Resumen
La dependencia asociada a la edad o a la discapacidad es un fenómeno que está tomando un peso importante en nuestra sociedad, en consecuencia, son cada vez más las personas que se ven obligadas a ocupar el rol de cuidadoras de personas dependientes. Principalmente, las personas encargadas de ejercer el rol de cuidadores son familiares directos, por lo que se trata de personas cuidadoras informales que realizan cuidados no profesionales en el domicilio de la persona dependiente.
Estas personas, fundamentalmente mujeres, soportan repercusiones a nivel físico, psicológico y social, debido a la fuerte presión por la gran demanda de cuidados. Cuanto mayor es el grado de dependencia física y deterioro mental de la persona cuidada mayor es el número de problemas de salud percibidos en las personas cuidadoras.
The dependence associated with the age or the disability is a really important phenomenon in our society. As a consecuence, there are more and more people who are forced to take on the role of caretakers of dependents. Mainly, people in charge of exercising the role of carers of dependent people are direct family, so it's about informal carers who take care of dependent person at home.
