The first objective of this study was to analyze the prevalence of child-to-parent violence in a sample of Spanish university students. A second objective was to study the reasons which participants use violence against their parents. The third objective was to examine if there are differences between group exercised and did not exercise violence against their parents in different methods of parental discipline and the correlation between these variables. The sample consisted of 254 Spanish students who reported abuses exercised their parents during adolescence. Participants came from to University of Oviedo and of Jaen; 39 men (15,5%) and 212 women (84,5%). The average age was 21,10 (SD=1,94). The prevalence of child-toparent violence (physical, psychological, economic and control or dominance) ranged between 7,5% and 87,7% depending on the abuse behavior considered, the aggressor and the victim. The most frequent motives were the relative ones to obtain benefits or permissions, the related ones to the temperament and to obtain money. With regard to the methods of discipline, were found significant differences between the groups that exercised and did not exercise child-to-parent violence in all the methods of discipline analyzed. Correlational analysis reflects significant positive relations between all forms of child-to-parent violence and the different methods of discipline.
