[ES]Durante años la doctrina tradicional que existía no contemplaba la enseñanza de la lectura o escritura a muchas personas con deficiencia mental, incluidas las personas con Síndrome de Down, ya que estaba totalmente aceptado que debido a su grado de discapacidad no podían aprender a leer y escribir. Desde que se comenzó con la enseñanza de la lectura en niños y niñas de este colectivo, han sido muchos los jóvenes lectores que han demostrado como puede mejorar su vida personal gracias a esta habilidad, mejorando sus habilidades comunicativas y sociales. En el presente trabajo de fin de máster se pretenden analizar diferentes métodos que han obtenido resultados favorables en el aprendizaje de la lectoescritura en alumnado con Síndrome de Down.
[EN]Many years ago, the traditional doctrine hold that People with mental disabilities, including people with Down syndrome, weren´t prepared for learning reading or writing abilities because it was fully accepted that due to their level of disability they could not learn to read and write. Given that teachers were started with the teaching of reading and writing in children of this group, there have been many young readers who have shown how they can improve their personal life thanks to this ability, improving their communication and social skills. In the present work to master they are attempting to analyze different methods favourable results in literacy learning in students with Down syndrome.
